If you haven't seen any of Robert De Niro's movies yet, then here's bringing you the top 5 movies of the legendary and effortless actor Robert De Niro.

Goodfellas (1990)
Goodfellas is hands down one of the best gangster movies ever made. This movie shows the story of Henry Hill and his life in the mob, covering his relationship with his wife Karen Hill and his mob partners Jimmy Conway and Tommy DeVito in the Italian-American crime syndicate. If you really enjoy mob and gangster films, then you won't find a better movie than Goodfellas. This movie is brilliantly directed by the legendary Martin Scorsese. The movie has consistent pace throughout and keeps you engaged and interested for more. The movie beautifully shows the ups and downs of the life of gangster Henry Hill and script is also very well written. What also works for the movie is the top notch performances by the entire cast, especially Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci. Overall, Goodfellas is the best gangster film ever made and is definitely a must watch.

The Godfather : Part II (1974)
What happens when two of the greatest actors ever seen on screen team up with a director who knows his job well? It results in pure MAGIC,which is what The Godfather part 2 is if put in a single word.Yes,it is long(3hours,20 minutes),yes,it has a slow pace, but if you really want to know what style is all about, what performance is all about, what screenplay is all about, what direction is all about, then you won't find a better eg. than this.Al Pacino(one of his best performances ever), gives a silent but effective performance as Micheal Corleone, but its Robert De Niro(as the young Vito Corleone) who steals the show. He performs such a difficult role with such natural ease,as if he was born to do this role. For all the above reasons, this movie is a must watch. If you haven't seen this, you haven't seen anything.

My Rating:-

Raging Bull (1980)
Raging Bull is another brilliant biography movie by Martin Scorsese. This movie is based on the life of boxer Jake LaMotta, as the violence and temper that leads him to the top in the ring destroys his life outside of it. Martin Scorsese is the king when it comes to making films that show an entire life of a person. He doesn't disappoint in this movie as well. He shows the ups and downs of the life of Jake LaMotta superbly and the film never feels like a drag. What also works for the movie is the top notch performance by its lead actor Robert DeNiro. Its almost impossible to separate him from the character. He plays the younger LaMotta and older one superbly and hardwork he did for the preparation of the role shows on screen. No Wonder he got an Oscar for his performance. Overall, Raging Bull is a brilliant film and another masterpiece featuring Martin Scorsese and De Niro. Don't miss this one.

Casino (1995)
Casino is another superb movie by Martin Scorsese. This movie is a tale of greed, deception, money, power, and murder occur between two best friends: a mafia enforcer and a casino executive, compete against each other over a gambling empire, and over a fast living and fast loving socialite. Casino is very similar to Goodfellas in terms of tone and direction. Only difference is in this movie the details of mob involvement in the casinos of the 1970's and '80's are revealed. Robert De Niro is again in top notch form in this movie along with Joe Pesci. Overall Casino is a must watch for all Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese fans.

Taxi Driver (1976)
Taxi Driver is another very well made film from the De Niro-Martin SCorsese combo. In this movie, a mentally unstable veteran works as a nighttime taxi driver in New York City, where the perceived decadence and sleaze fuels his urge for violent action by attempting to liberate a presidential campaign worker and an underage prostitute. This movie is just superbly directed. It is one of those rare movies which shows loneliness brilliantly. One thing that makes Taxi Driver so brilliant is how adeptly Scorsese visually represents the main characters emotional state. What also works for the movie is the effortless performance by Robert De Niro. He is just brilliant in each and every scene and you can see the crazyness in his performance. Only thing that i feel is lacking in this movie is the completeness in the script. The second half feels a little incomplete/hurried. This movie would have been one of my favourites if more of the loneliness theme of the first half was explored in the second half as well. Overall, Taxi Driver is a very good movie. Watch it for Robert De Niro's performance and superb direction.

Genre:- Crime, Drama.
Director:- Martin Scorsese.
Stars:- Robert De Niro.
Oscar Buzz:-
