Recent releases

This blog post is a continuation of one of my earlier blog post.

Hope you have seen all the 5 earlier 2011 movies i suggested:).Here are some more 2011 movies i enjoyed:).

Rise of the Planet of the Apes
This year seems to be the year of the prequels, with X-Men First Class doing well earlier in the year and now another blockbuster with this Planet of the Apes prequel. In this movie, during experiments to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease, a genetically-enhanced chimpanzee (Caesar) uses its greater intelligence to lead other apes to freedom. This movie may not be as good as the 1968 Planet of the Apes movie in terms of script and story. But it makes up for it all with its outstanding special effects:),great pace and of course its lead character Caesar(played well by Andy Serkis). The highlight of the film definitely is its last 20 minutes when the apes wreak havoc on the city:),especially the golden gate bridge scene, when they face the cops, their strategy when half the apes go above the bridge, half go below the bridge:):) and an extraordinary scene when a giant gorilla jumps off the bridge on the helicopter taking it down:):):).This movie is definitely pleasing to the eye and a must watch:).

Genre:- Action,Sci-Fi,Thriller.
Prerequisites:- Though this may be a prequel to Planet of the Apes series, this works well as a stand alone movie as well.So no need to watch the entire series before you enjoy this one:).
Bore Meter:- No chance of getting bored.Has great pace:).
My Rating:-

Crazy, Stupid, Love
A nice, funny and simple movie which touches your heart:).In this movie,Cal (Steve Carell) and Emily (Julianne Moore) have the perfect life together living the American dream... until Emily asks for a divorce. Now Cal, Mr Husband, has to navigate the single scene with a little help from his professional bachelor friend Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling). This movie basically works because of its likeable cast:).They are so likeable that even when they do stupid things, you don't mind.Ryan Gosling is amazing as Jacob,Julianne Moore is great as well:).Emma Stone brings a wonderful freshness in whichever scene she appears:).But its Steve Carell who stands out as Cal Weaver.Really fantastic:).The movie does become a little over dramatic in the latter half, but because of its good direction, great script and extremely likeable cast, this is a must watch:).

Genre:- Comedy, Drama, Romance.
Bore Meter:- Won't get bored.Has good pace:).
My Rating:-

Horrible Bosses

Definitely the most funny movie made since The Hangover:).Here, three friends conspire to murder their awful bosses when they realize they are standing in the way of their happiness.Every single actor is funny in this movie, the jokes are amazing as well:).Laughed so much after a long time:).If its comedy you are looking for, then Horrible Bosses is the best bet this year:).Definitely a must watch:).

Genre:- Comedy.
Bore Meter:- No chance of getting bored.Has great laughs:).
My Rating:-

Super 8
If u liked the E.T, there is a good chance that you will like this movie as well:).Here, during the summer of 1979, a group of friends witness a train crash and investigate subsequent unexplained events in their small town. The first half is really good, the second half is a little disappointing, but overall a good watch:).Tight script, great direction and good suspense make this sci-fi movie a must watch:).

Genre:- Mystery, Sci-Fi, Thriller.
Bore Meter:- Won't get bored.Has good pace:).
My Rating:-

Limitless is a good enjoyable roller-coaster ride:).Here,a writer(played by Bradley Cooper) discovers a top-secret drug which bestows him with super human abilities. This movie works because of its tight script and its roller coaster pace:).With its really new concept, this sci-fi thriller is another must watch:).

Genre:- Mystery, Sci-Fi, Thriller.
