Trailer Analysis:- Bombay Velvet

The trailer of the much hyped Bombay Velvet has released atlast:):):). The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma and is directed by Anurag Kashyap. The movie seems like a gangster movie inspired from movies like Scarface. Its very difficult to tell how good a movie will be just by looking at the trailer. But a trailer definitely helps in gaining interest towards the movie. It helps you decide whether you want to watch it or not.

This is first time Anurag Kashyap who is known to make superb movies in small budget is actually trying a high budget film with a main stream star like Ranbir Kapoor. Small budget movie of Anurag Kashyap is something we know we can watch and will definitely be good. But it is interesting to see how he handles a higher budget:).

The movie doesn't seem like a blockbuster. Not sure it will have a grand opening similar to family movies like Chennai Express, Happy New Year or Kick. But it may turn out to be a path breaking movie for Bollywood. Or it may end up being a huge disaster critically as well as commercially:(. Only time will tell what will happen.

Overall, the trailer of the film is decent. Not something that people may rush to the theaters to
see. But if the movie turns out to be good, then I am sure by word of mouth, this movie may end up
being a blockbuster:).

Do watch the trailer and let me know your thoughts by commenting below:).

2014 has been a great year for movies:). We saw some really good movies releasing this year. With the awards season already begun and Oscars coming this week, here's a list of top 10 movies of 2014. This list is based on what i think to be the best movies of the year. Please feel free to comment on what you thought were the best movies this year:).

1. Interstellar
Interstellar is the best film I have seen in 2014.Though not as brilliant as Nolan's other films like Inception and The Dark Knight, Interstellar is still a superb film:).Here, a team of explorers travel through a wormhole in an attempt to ensure humanity's survival. The movie mainly focuses on two key areas. One is the space adventure where our explorers need to travel through a wormhole to save humanity and other is the emotional drama between our movie's lead protagonist and his daughter.Nolan shows both these areas beautifully and manages to keep the audience engaged throughout the film. One of the main features of the film is its spectacular visual effects:). This is one of the few movies for which IMAX screens are actually made. After watching this movie in IMAX, you will feel as if you were on a space ride:). Simply incredible:). Also background score by Hans Zimmer is pretty good.Another thing that works for the movie is its cast. Matthew McConaughey is simply superb as Cooper and is the heart of the film. Also Jessica Chastain shines in her role:). The movie is paced really well and manages to engage the audience throughout its length.
Also worth mentioning is the outstanding performance by J.K Simmons. He is simply brilliant and his performance will give you goosebumps:).Not sure whether everyone will like the ending of the movie. But if you think about it,it's better to end early than drag the movie and end too late.Overall Whiplash is a superb movie and definitely a great watch:).

In this movie, Captain America struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and battles a new threat from old history: the Soviet agent known as the Winter Soldier. To be really honest, i wasn't a huge fan of Captain America, he is my least favorite superhero, so i really didn't have much expectations from this movie. Boyhood is a very well made movie that connects with you:). The movies shows the life of a young man, Mason, from age 5 to age 18.
What's spectacular about the movie is that it took 11 years to make it. Unlike our bollywood films, where a kid suddenly grows into our hero(full grown man), here the director has waited patiently for 11 years and shot with the same actors who were once kids and by end of the movie grow into adults. The movie is really good because it doesn't feel like a movie. It feels as if you are watching somebody's life which is being shown in front of you. Such is the brilliance of the direction.Overall, Boyhood is a very good movie and definitely a very good watch:).

Genre:- Drama.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is a very good movie:). Here, The X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is the sequel to the 2011 blockbuster Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Here, In the wake of a disaster that changed the world, the growing and genetically evolving apes find themselves at a critical point with the human race. If you are an action freak like me, you may not enjoy this movie that much.First of all there is hardly any 3d effect for a so called 3d movie. Also the entire movie takes place in a small area for a high budget blockbuster like this. But what saves the movie is the drama. The direction is really good. The performances especially by Andy Serkis is really good. Also it is a very soulful movie. There are lots of moments/scenes in the movie when the humans and Apes interact which touch your heart:). For its good direction, intense drama and performances, this is a good watch:).

Transformers: Age of Extinction
Transformers: Age of Extinction is the 4th installment of the Transformers series. It's a typical Michael Bay blockbuster:). Here, a mechanic and his family join the Autobots as they are targeted by a bounty hunter from another world. What mainly works for this movie is its action sequences:).If you are a action freak like me, then it won't get better than this:). 3 hrs of  non-stop action and assault of sound and fury. One action sequence followed by the next:). It's as if the movie was made on an unlimited budget:). Though not much in terms of script and story, the main characters offer some humour in between the huge action sequences:). Overall this is a good movie and a must watch movie for all action freaks:):):). To be enjoyed mainly in IMAX:).

Genre:- Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi.
Director:- Michael Bay
Stars:- Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor.
